Powered by the dream of two great man.

In 1957, Tan Sri Dato’ Loh Boon Siew and Mr. Soichiro Honda met for the very first time.

 

What started off as a partnership to offer motorcycles to the masses grew into a unified dream, to promote effective means of transportation for the development of Malaysia’s economy.

After 60 years of partnership, their vision was taken to the next level. Boon Siew Honda was born – an organization built on passion, determination ,and the power of dreams.

 

Commencing operations in September 2008, Boon Siew Honda Sdn. Bhd. is a joint venture company between Honda Motor Co. Ltd and Oriental Holdings Bhd. We aim to provide rider satisfaction through efficient service, quality products, and continual technological development.

Key Highlights Throughout the Years

1957

Tan Sri Dato’ Loh Boon Siew and Mr. Soichiro Honda meet for the first time.

1958

The First Honda C100 SuperCub arrives.

1969

Butterworth hosts the first motorcycle assembly plant in Malaysia.

1973

Mr. Soichiro Honda’s first visit to Malaysia.

1986

The Honda C70 is the 1 millionth motorcycle to be manufactured in Malaysia

1987

The Honda EX5 is introduced with overwhelming demand

1995

The first Honda C70s are shipped overseas.

1999

The Honda EX5 was the 2 millionth motorcycle to be manufactured

2004

  • First Honda Wave 125 rolls to the assembly line.
  • Establishment of the Honda Safety Rolling Center

2007

  • The Honda Wave 125 is the millionth motorcycle to be produced.
  • Boon Siew Group and Honda celebrate 50 years of partnership

2008

Honda establishes a joint venture with Oriental Holdings naming it Boon Siew Honda Sdn. Bhd.

2011

The Honda Wave Dash is the 4 millionth motorcycle to be produced. Production of Honda Wave Dash SE Repsol Edition begins.

2013

Boon Siew Honda relocates to a new cutting-edge factory in Batu Kawan, Penang.

2016

Becomes the first 2-wheeled manufacturing company in Malaysia to obtain an EEV Certificate.
